Disappearing Mountains

 disappearing mountains
rain is falling down
on the hillside forests
here where I am found

waiting by a roadside
listening to the patter
of raindrops on the roof
a pitter patter chatter

of elemental messages
in the soothing sound
of water droplets crashing
above and on the ground

a liquid luscious moment
a water reverie
as rain keeps falling everywhere
on all that I can see

flowing in the gutters
dripping from the trees
splashing from the puddles
soaking all the leaves

teardrops from the ocean
saturate the ground
of disappearing mountains
here where I am found...

 beautiful woman, beautiful day
thoughts of you won't go away
I know we can never be
nevertheless it is you that I see

in inner visions of what is to come
imagining that we become one
imagining that you see me too
in any way that pleases you

your eyes, your eyes, such a surprise
shining from inside, beauty that ties
your perfection, all that I see
to something primeval deep within me

churgling gurgling bubbling up
over the rim, filling my cup
you're Aphrodite you are divine
this is for you, rhythm and rhyme

I know we can never be
nevertheless less it is you that I see
imagining that we become one
on this beautiful day under the sun...
