as we lie

on a blanket

enjoying sights
and too the sounds

natural rhythms
breathing in
and breathing out
entering

synchronizing
resonance
the only time
the present tense

the only place
there is to be
is where we are
you and me

with summer breezes
on a warm night

contemplate and visualize
where you want to be
paradise on another world
superluminally

journey to a distant star
through the space between
flowing electricity
currents' braided beams

far beyond the galaxy
you are not alone
I am there along with you
we are almost home

through the void we can't avoid
the emptiness inside
emptiness is everywhere
there is no where to hide

disappearing yesterdays
what seemed to be is gone
we arrive in paradise
where we both belong

up and down around around
waves keep crashing splashing sound

the atmosphere is so appealing
crystal clear as it's revealing
clarity made manifest
the warm caress of air on chest

the warm caress of fingers touching
sensations amplified so much in
anticipation just to be
on an island, you and me

you are in the sky above me
I am on the earth so lovely
we meet in the in between
intertwining dreams we seem

to keep moving as we're changing
constant motion, feeling strange in
the universe we live
taking, keeping, just to give
