Turmoil

 a thousand years, a thousand days
awake, asleep while in a daze
time in turmoil rushing by,
there is someone who knows why

there is someone very near
in this whirlwind in which we're
confused, abused, amused as well
there is someone who can tell

what it is we need to know
to evolve, once more to grow
there is someone very close -
we're the someone, we're the host

to consciousness of inner peace
here then gone we are at least
elevating how we feel
in the turmoil, its appeal

dissipating as we float,
the peace within like a boat
sailing over storm tossed seas
calm inside we are at ease

breathing in and out and in
every moment to begin
a thousand years, a thousand days
where nothing lasts and no one stays...
