how far away are we from death
the ocean deep, just one more breath
just one more thought and we're away
we all must leave, no one can stay -

how far away are we from love
the trees, the sea, the sky above
the ones we know and those we meet
both the sour and the sweet -

how far away are we from who
we were before we knew
who we are about to be
when we leave when we're set free -

how far away are we from now
our thoughts race on and back somehow
flitting through what we've become
still within we are all one -

how far away are we from breath
when air is all that we have left
between alive and moving on
beyond beyond, where we have gone -

how far away am I from you
and you from me and all those who
come and go as we arise
rubbing sleep from tired eyes -

how far away are we from death

Day 14 Month 4 - 13 Moon Calendar

Whiteflower Bay

the ghosts of ships and war long gone
the cries of gulls where they belong
in Whiteflower Bay along with me
by the living breathing sea -
the air's tiptoeing from the east
like some invisible prowling beast
hurrying by where ghosts live on
carrying off the gulls loud song -
the sky above is curtained by
blue grey clouds which bump and vie
for the space which once seemed blue
as Sun climbs up but out of view -
the tide has left the shore exposed
an easy feast for all of those
gulls and ravens living near
the ghosts of war here by the pier -
Sunday morning city stirs
awaking slowly life occurs
by the ocean bay with me
in the living breathing sea -
deep in space a planet's found
beyond beyond the all around
a new day dawning in the way
we must view the place we stay -
we believe we think we know
then we find there's more below
there's more above there's more within
than we believed as we all spin -
beyond beyond the all around
deep in space is where we're found
hurrying by where ghosts live on
like cries of gulls we all belong ...

the wind skips over waves it blows
through trees whose branches bend
every time I think of you
my thoughts on wind I send -

the sound of gulls the smell of sea
the air feels warm on skin
every time I send a thought
it's wrapped in sweet love-ing -

the sunlight dances on the sea
shimmering before
illuminating all around
it's you whom I adore -

the Moon is up although it's day
whispering night dreams
whether dark or whether light
to you I send love beams -

time flows by without a pause
thoughts flow by as well
every time I think of you
is like a tinkling bell -

penetrating where I am
what I do and feel
angelic voices singing sweet
songs of your appeal -

in my heart there is a place
where you always dwell
even though we are apart
you are near as well -

inside I know you think of me
my head,my heart and deeper the
vortex feeling swirling 'round
I know it's you just like the sound

of angels singing flying by
over head and heart in sky
brushing lightly wind from wings
soul awakening spirit sings -

inside I know you feel me too
in head and heart and deeper too
magnetic forces pull on souls
closer like two different poles

there is no greater force to feel
than this compelling soul appeal
dwelling always deep within
no matter where our egos swim -

inside I feel your heart beat fast
knowing that true feelings last
beyond this lifetime and before
beyond the next and evermore

inside we're one outside we're two
although apart I am with you
you are with me when I wake
and in my dreams where we both make

to become much closer than
