Taking Flight

 shadows shifting, thoughts, ideas
in the darkness all our fears
dissolve into the quiet light
shining always through the night

through the times when we're alone
by ourselves when no one's home
in solitude remembering
that light keeps shining from within

swirling fields of energy
all around in which to be
travelers in and out of time
elevated by this rhyme

relaxing mind to float away
to rise above our egos' play
to become celestial
beings rising from a fall...

gravity lets us slowly slip
from the power of its grip
as always shining inner light
embraces us while taking flight

Winter Solstice

 video

 drops of nectar, morning dew
sunlit prisms now in view
snow topped mountains all around
rhythmic lapping ocean sound

hummingbirds and eagles too
flyng in a sky so blue
the ocean sparkles, catching light
reflecting photons caught in flight

senses tingling, mind aroused
evaporating thinking's cloud
contemplation's flowing stream
disappearing in a beam

of swirling, twirling liquid light
penetrating endless night
where we wobble with the Earth...
winter solstice is rebirth

as days grow longer, night retreats
cosmic forces' drumlike beats
are the soundtrack to our lives
the only rhythm that survives

the morning Sun, the Moon at night
friends and lovers so we might
see sunlit prisms when in view
in drops of nectar, morning dew
