the Sacred Sea is older than
all the time here spent by man
deeper than the deepest thought
the Sacred Sea to each has brought

a hint of all the times now gone
and times to come where we'll belong -

the Sacred Sea is purity
from very deep, the way to be
like our souls in spirit formed
flowing through our egos born

into this world before we leave
we feel its breath in lives we weave
the patterns left when we return
to the place for which we yearn

to the place in between
when awake and when we dream -

the Sacred Sea extends beyond
the lives we live of which we're fond
a hint of all the times now gone
and times to come where we'll belong -

spirit rises, spirit falls
spirit flows on, spirit calls
spirit blows from sea to land
spirit grows here where we stand

spirit's unseen and unheard
spirit soars just like a bird
high above the ground below
slipping into space it goes

spirit breathes us in and out
it never leaves us here about
on this planet here on Earth
spirit's with us from our birth

spirit's with us when we dream
and when we wake it's spirit's steam
all around us like a mist
electrifying with its kiss

we rise up and we fall down
sometimes we float, sometimes we drown
in the deep dark ocean mind
spirit saves us every time

spirit flows through where we stand
spirit tows us from the land
from the realm of gravity
spirit lifts both you and me

spirit rises, spirit falls
spirit flows on, spirit calls
spirit blows from sea to land
spirit grows here where we stand

welling up from where we keep
returning from dark night's deep sleep
the always dreaming tidal rush
now overflowing with its hush

once more arousing me and you
in the morning wondering who
can touch us in this way
as we wake and through the day

the sad lament of beauty cries
from the Earth and from the skies
incandescent morning light
effervescent in the night

like spirit bubbles floating by
we are drifting up on high
currents in the atmosphere
above our sorrows and our fears

above thinking thoughts and wild ideas
which always seem to lead to tears
the sad lament of beauty cries
from the Earth and from the skies

as we wake and through the day
what we feel is here to stay
the always dreaming tidal rush
overflowing with its lush

emotions like the rolling swell
in the ocean like a bell
reverberating on and on
'til we let go and we are gone

molecules of atmosphere
rising, falling everywhere
Sun reflecting off the Earth
tickling air and giving birth

to motions, currents, swirls and drafts
unseen winds and breezy laughs
skipping over ground and sea
skipping over you and me

rushing up the hills to spill
over into valleys filled
with molecules of atmosphere
rising, falling there and here

tiptoeing quickly through the trees
peeka-booing then it flees
never is it standing still
air keeps rushing where it will

Sun reflecting off the ground
tickling air which moves around
molecules of atmosphere
rising, falling everywhere

skipping over ground and sea
air keeps moving wherever we
feel its touch while rushing by
caressing all, the unseen sky

the unseen winds whose breezy laughs
swirl in currents, puff in drafts
bring us all the air we breathe
from when we're born to when we leave
