Day 3 Month 2 - 13 Moon Calendar

telepathic fingers

the soft touch of telepathic fingers
caresses mind then lingers
as an afterthought, an image
fading slowly to the finish
of its memory compelling
radiating out and swelling
like a bubble
safe within the trouble
is the people that we meet
both the sour and the sweet
the personalities we greet
touch us with their thinking
attract us with mind blinking
with the soft touch of telepathic fingers
caressing mind which lingers
as an afterthought an image
fading slowly to the finish of its memory compelling
radiating out and swelling
as if we're in a bubble
as if we're thinking double
as if growing more thought stubble
once again -
we share both thought and feeling
both repelling and appealing
only meditation's healing
stops the rain
of other people's thinking
in which we all are sinking
the collective psyche's linking
stays the same
with the soft touch of telepathic fingers
caressing mind which lingers
as an afterthought, an image
fading slowly to its finish
once again...

Day 28 Month 1 - 13 Moon Calendar

WHEN WAKING

I love the sound that seagulls make
when waking in the morning
the sea so close as sleep I shake
off with their loud warning
to each other – the search begins
to fill another day
with nourishment and meaning
or perhaps it’s just to play –
I love the sound from far away
of trains and ships when blowing
horns and whistles hoot and honk
in morning light’s soft glowing
through the glass which separates
the inside from the outside
through the haze of mental states
mind’s neverending tide –
I love the sound as waters lap
up against the shore
somehow reassuring
sound’s hypnotic door
elevating spirits
penetrating souls
entraining mind and thinking
waves breaking from their rolls
across the ocean
across the sea unseen
crashing in commotion
within this waking dream

Month 1 Day 26 - 13 Moon Calendar

summertime

inside passage
Salish Sea
morning breeze is brushing me
seaside, ocean
mountains soar
Sun keeps shining
on the shore -
summertime is living easy
summertime it will not last
while it's here
so warm and breezy
it's not gone
not in the past -
English Bay
Burrard Inlet
Indian Arm
Port Moody
North Vancouver
Second Narrows
Lion's Gate
a sight to see -
summertime is bright and cheerful
summertime is when we're free
air on skin
so too the sunlight
synthesizing vitamin D -
summertime is living easy
summertime it will not last
while it's here
so warm and breezy
it's not gone
not in the past -
